The Gilbert Avenue provides transitional living services in four apartments to young adults up to a maximum duration of 24 months. It is intended to assist residents in building independent living skills that will enable them to move to increased independence within 12 to 18 months. While there is 24/7 onsite staff, the staffing pattern is built upon the premise that the residents can be alone in the apartments, can perform basic activities of daily living independently, may access the community without supervision, and have the ability to administer their medications independently (after instruction, if necessary). |
